NPP presidential primaries: Bawuimiah Wraps up Eastern Regional Tour

Ghana’s Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia has wrapped up his campaign tour of the Eastern region as the governing New Patriotic Party prepares to hold a special delegates congress on August 26, 2023.

Per the requirements of the New Patriotic Party’s Constitution, a special electoral college will have the mandate to trim down the number of candidates contesting the flagbearership slot of the party if the total number of persons filing to contest exceed five.

Given the fact that the number of person seeking to succeed President Akufo-Addo as the leader of the NPP counts to ten, aspirants have been crisscrossing the country seeking the support of delegates ahead of what is set to be a keenly contested race.

Dr. Bawumiah who is one of the forerunners in the race on Sunday August 25,2023 wrapped up his tour of the Eastern region. The Presidential Hopeful’s toursaw him touch base with Delegates of Akuapem South Akuapem North, Okere,  Yilo Krobo, Asuogyaman, Lower Manya Krobo, Upper Manya Krobo, New Juaben North New Juaben South Abuakwa South through to Akim Oda, Ofoase Avirebi Abirem and all other constituencies of the Eastern Region.

Dr. Bawmia expressed gratitude to the delegates of the constituency while stressing his mantra that “it is possible” for him to emerge winner and eventually retain power for the New Patriotic Party.
